International Journal of Islamic Studies and Social Sciences (IJISS)

The International Journal of Islamic Studies and Social Sciences (IJISS) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of editorial quality, transparency, and academic integrity. The journal adopts internationally recognized best practices in scholarly publishing to ensure a fair, rigorous, and ethical editorial process.

Peer Review Process

All manuscripts submitted to IJISS undergo a double-blind peer review process, where both authors and reviewers remain anonymous throughout the review. Each manuscript is evaluated by at least two independent reviewers based on originality, academic merit, methodological rigor, clarity of presentation, and relevance to the journal’s scope.

Editorial Decision

The Editor-in-Chief makes the final decision on manuscript acceptance based on reviewers’ reports and recommendations. Decisions include acceptance, minor revision, major revision, or rejection. Authors will be informed of the decision along with constructive feedback from reviewers.

Review Timeline

The journal strives to ensure a timely review process. The initial editorial screening is conducted within 1–2 weeks, followed by peer review, which typically takes 4–8 weeks. The overall publication process may vary depending on revisions and editorial considerations.

Plagiarism Screening

All submitted manuscripts are screened for plagiarism using Turnitin or other reliable plagiarism detection tools. The journal applies a strict similarity threshold, and manuscripts with a similarity index exceeding 20% will be rejected.

Authors are responsible for ensuring the originality of their work and proper citation of all sources. Any indication of plagiarism, including self-plagiarism, data fabrication, or unethical reuse of content, will result in immediate rejection and may lead to further editorial action.

Publication Ethics

IJISS adheres to internationally recognized standards of publication ethics and follows the principles established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Authors, editors, and reviewers are expected to comply with ethical standards throughout the publication process.

Authorship and Contributions

Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made significant contributions to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the reported study. All contributors who do not meet the criteria for authorship should be acknowledged appropriately.

Conflicts of Interest

Authors, reviewers, and editors must disclose any financial or personal relationships that could influence the research or its interpretation. Transparency is essential to maintain the integrity of scholarly communication.

Data Availability and Reproducibility

Authors are encouraged to provide access to the data supporting their findings where applicable. This promotes transparency, reproducibility, and verification of research results.

Open Access Policy

IJISS provides immediate open access to its content, supporting the global exchange of knowledge. All articles are freely accessible without subscription or payment barriers.
