Ethical Standards

The International Journal of Islamic Studies and Social Sciences (IJISS) is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and takes all possible measures against publication malpractice. This journal follows the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and adopts internationally recognized standards of ethical publishing. All parties involved in the publication process, including authors, editors, reviewers, and publishers, are expected to adhere to these ethical guidelines.

1. Duties of Authors

  • Authors must submit original and unpublished work that is not under consideration elsewhere.
  • Authors must present accurate data and objective analysis without fabrication or falsification.
  • All sources must be properly cited, and plagiarism in any form is strictly prohibited.
  • Authors must disclose any financial or institutional conflicts of interest.
  • Authorship should reflect significant academic contributions only.
  • Authors must correct significant errors found after publication.

2. Duties of Editors

  • Editors evaluate manuscripts based on academic merit without discrimination.
  • Editors must ensure confidentiality of submitted manuscripts.
  • Editors must guarantee a fair and unbiased peer review process.
  • Editors must not use unpublished material for personal research.
  • Editors must respond appropriately to ethical concerns.

3. Duties of Reviewers

  • Reviewers must provide objective, constructive, and timely feedback.
  • Reviewers must maintain confidentiality of manuscripts.
  • Reviewers should identify uncited relevant work.
  • Reviewers must disclose conflicts of interest.
  • Reviewers should decline review if unqualified or conflicted.

4. Plagiarism Policy

All manuscripts are subject to plagiarism screening. Submissions with significant similarity, duplicate publication, or unethical overlap will be rejected. Authors are required to uphold academic integrity and proper citation practices.

5. Conflict of Interest

All parties must disclose any conflicts of interest that could influence the publication process, including financial, institutional, or personal relationships.

6. Ethical Oversight

Research involving human subjects or sensitive data must comply with ethical standards and may require formal ethical approval and informed consent.

7. Corrections and Retractions

The journal will issue corrections or retractions when necessary to maintain the integrity of the academic record.
