Peer Review Process
Peer Review Process
International Journal of Islamic Studies and Social Sciences (IJISS)
All manuscripts submitted to the International Journal of Islamic Studies and Social Sciences (IJISS) undergo a rigorous double-blind peer review process to ensure academic quality, originality, relevance, and methodological soundness. In this process, the identities of both authors and reviewers are concealed in order to maintain objectivity, fairness, and scholarly integrity throughout the evaluation.
Initial Editorial Screening
Upon submission, each manuscript is first screened by the editorial team to assess its conformity with the journal’s focus and scope, academic writing quality, formatting requirements, and similarity check results. Manuscripts that do not meet the journal’s basic submission standards may be returned to the authors for revision or declined at the preliminary stage.
Reviewer Assignment
Manuscripts that pass the preliminary review are assigned to at least two independent reviewers who possess relevant expertise in the subject area. The review is conducted under a double-blind system to preserve neutrality and ensure a fair scholarly assessment.
Peer Review Evaluation
Reviewers evaluate the manuscript based on originality, theoretical contribution, clarity of objectives, relevance to the journal, methodological rigor, quality of analysis, coherence of discussion, and overall significance to the field of Islamic studies and social sciences.
Editorial Decision
Based on the reviewers’ reports and recommendations, the editorial decision may fall into one of the following categories: accept submission, minor revisions required, major revisions required, resubmit for review, or reject submission.
Revision by Authors
Authors are required to revise their manuscripts carefully in accordance with the reviewers’ comments and submit a clear point-by-point response explaining the revisions made in the updated version of the manuscript.
Final Decision
The Editor-in-Chief makes the final decision after considering the reviewers’ evaluations and the authors’ revisions. IJISS is committed to ensuring that the review process is conducted in a timely, ethical, transparent, and constructive manner to support the publication of high-quality scholarly work.
